In order to implement this Agenda successfully, Africa needs to undertake and commit to the following:
- Political commitment: African leaders need to demonstrate political commitment to the implementation of the Agenda 2063. This requires a sustained effort to mobilize resources and support for the implementation of the agenda.
- Mobilization of resources: The implementation of Agenda 2063 requires substantial financial resources. African countries must, therefore, mobilize domestic resources, attract foreign investment, and secure international support to finance the agenda.
- Strengthening institutions: The successful implementation of the Agenda 2063 requires the strengthening of institutions at the national, regional, and continental levels. This includes building strong institutions that are accountable, transparent, and efficient in the management of resources.
- Enhancing human capital: Human capital development is crucial to the implementation of the Agenda 2063. African countries must invest in education, health, and skills development to build a capable workforce that can drive economic growth and sustainable development.
- Infrastructure development: The development of critical infrastructure such as roads, energy, water, and communication is essential to the successful implementation of the Agenda 2063. African countries must prioritize the development of infrastructure to enhance connectivity, reduce the cost of doing business, and improve the quality of life for their citizens.
- Private sector involvement: The private sector plays a critical role in driving economic growth and development. African countries must, therefore, create an enabling environment for private sector investment, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
- Regional integration: Regional integration is essential to the successful implementation of the Agenda 2063. African countries must, therefore, prioritize regional integration initiatives that promote trade, investment, and free movement of people, goods, and services.
- Good governance: Good governance is a cornerstone of the Agenda 2063. African countries must, therefore, prioritize the rule of law, democracy, and human rights to create an enabling environment for sustainable development.
