In addition to supporting the implementation of Agenda 2063 flagship projects, VisionAfric Development will undertake various projects and programs in pursuance of our stated objectives. Some of the projects and programs which make up the Agenda2063Plus Initiative will include:
- Education and Skills Development: VisionAfric Development will support the development of education and skills development initiatives that focus on improving access to quality education, especially for marginalized communities. This will include construction of schools especially those pursuing Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), construction and supporting of technical and vocational training Centres, funding scholarships for disadvantaged students, and providing educational materials to schools in rural areas.
- Healthcare Access: VisionAfric Development will support initiatives that improve access to healthcare, particularly in rural areas. This will include building healthcare facilities, providing medical supplies and equipment, funding medical outreach programs, funding research and development especially in the uses of local herbal materials to produce medicines locally, improving skills amongst African medical personnel, encouraging collaboration among African medical research institutions, etc
- Scaling up Nutrition to combat the prevalence of malnutrition cases on the continent. This will require a multi-sectoral approach that involves improving access to nutritious foods, promoting breastfeeding and complementary feeding, implementing micronutrient supplementation programs, strengthening health systems, and promoting education and behavior change.
- Improving Agricultural Productivity: VisionAfric Development will support initiatives aimed at improving agricultural productivity and food security. This will include funding projects that provide access to modern farming technology, and support farmers’ cooperatives. VisionAfric Development will support initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable agriculture practices, such as conservation agriculture, agroforestry, and integrated pest management, to increase agricultural productivity and reduce the environmental impact of agriculture. In addition, VisionAfric Development will support research in seed and agro-input production.
- African Agricultural Bank: Food production in Africa has been hampered by lack of finance for farmers most of who are small scale and unable to access financing from traditional commercial banks. The African Agricultural Bank will be an Africa-wide bank specialized in lending to the agricultural sector to boost food production for both local and export markets.
- Developing the African Agricultural value chain to ensure the efficient movement of agricultural products from the farm to the market both within Africa and export markets. By investing in logistics infrastructure such as roads, railways, warehousing, packaging and labeling facilities as well as other support services like market information systems, standardization and certification, Africa will unlock the potential of its agricultural sector and promote food security, increased export earnings, job creation and economic growth.
- African Manufacturing Zones: Africa’s historical impediment to development has been its reliance on export of raw materials without any local value addition, hence denying African people employment opportunities which has been a major contributor to high levels of poverty in the midst of plenty. Moving away from this requires an aggressive move to local manufacturing of Africa’s consumer goods to enable trade in finished products. Manufacturing zones will also incorporate assembly plants for various capital goods and equipment as well as recycling plants for better waste management. Establishment of Manufacturing Zones with uniform special investment incentives across the continent will stimulate the African manufacturing sector and lead to higher employment levels.
- Infrastructure Development: VisionAfric Development will support initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure, including transport, energy, and water. This will include mobilizing funding for projects that improve road networks, provide access to renewable energy sources, and improve water supply and sanitation facilities.
- Developing Sports Infrastructure such as stadiums, arenas, training centers, etc so as develop Africa’s sporting skills which are a potential economic force on the continent. Sports have the power to bring people together across social, economic, and cultural divides. Through participation in sports, Africans will build relationships, learn teamwork and leadership skills, and develop a sense of community and oneness.
- Developing Smart Cities which are urban areas that leverage technology and data to improve the quality of life for their citizens, enhance sustainability, and optimize the use of resources. Overall, smart cities have the potential to transform Africa’s urban areas, improving the lives of its citizens, enhancing sustainability, and driving economic growth.
- Digital Infrastructure: VisionAfric Development will support initiatives aimed at building digital infrastructure, such as broadband networks and data centers, to help drive innovation and increase access to information and communication technologies across the continent.
- Developing Africa’s Blue Economy by improving economic activities that are based on the sustainable use of ocean resources, including fisheries, aquaculture, tourism, maritime transport, and offshore energy. It also includes activities such as coastal and marine ecosystem conservation and management. Africa has a long coastline and abundant marine resources, making it well-positioned to leverage the blue economy for its development.
- African Energy Supply: In order to power the anticipated rapid industrialization of Africa, the need for sustainable energy sources is imperative. Africa has numerous investment opportunities to produce solar energy, hydropower, wind, geothermal energy, etc. In addition, investment in oil refineries shall be prioritized to take advantage of the oil reserves in Africa that are currently exported in crude for.
- Private Sector Development: VisionAfric Development will support initiatives aimed at promoting private sector development, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises. This will include funding projects that provide access to finance, training, and other business development services.
- Housing and Real Estate Development to meet Africa’s needs for decent housing with appropriate water and sanitation services. This will include construction of housing units, warehousing facilities, recreation facilities and shopping malls with related urban facilities.
- Women’s Empowerment: VisionAfric Development will support initiatives aimed at promoting women’s empowerment and gender equality, such as increasing women’s access to education and economic opportunities and addressing gender-based violence and discrimination.
- African Women and Youth Bank: Development of Africa is through the financial freedom and stability of her women and youth entrepreneurs. Establishment of a specialized youth and Women’s Bank will permit this sector of Africa’s business community to grow their enterprises and stimulate employment creation. Empowering SMEs through investment and easy access to loans and other types of business finance will enhance wealth distribution.
- African Global Directory: We shall establish an African Directory, a database of Africans with names, contacts, addresses, businesses, products, companies and country of residence. This will be an online and offline site to search, research and connect Africans across the globe.
- African Trade and Investment Fund (ATIF), an independent non-governmental African financial institution that will finance African development projects and give grants and guarantees for Africans’ investment in Africa. It will incorporate an innovation fund that will finance new innovations and development of new technologies for the continent. The ATIF will target the establishment of a single African currency backed by Africa’s abundant mineral resources such as gold.
- African Tourism Agency (ATA), whose primary purpose will be to consolidate and document Africa’s tourist attractions in all African countries and market these to the rest of the world to promote increased earnings from the tourism sector.
- African Centre for Arts, Cultural and Creative Industries, to promote African culture and develop creative skills such as performing arts, music and crafts.
- African News Agency (ANA) whose primary purpose will be to disseminate positive news and good stories from Africa and paint the correct picture of the continent to the rest of the world so as to counter the damage done by international news media.
- Peace and Security: VisionAfric Development will support initiatives aimed at promoting peace and security, such as supporting conflict resolution and prevention efforts, and building the capacity of institutions to manage security threats.
- Governance and Democracy: VisionAfric Development will support initiatives aimed at promoting democratic governance and improving accountability. This will include funding projects that promote civic engagement, strengthen the rule of law, and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of public institutions.
- Promoting e-Government including e-Parliaments to improve Government and legislative efficiency and service delivery to African peoples.
By undertaking the Agenda 2063Plus projects and other projects and programs, VisionAfric Development will contribute to the overall development of the African continent and help to achieve the goals of Agenda 2063.
